Outside the walls

Watcha doin’ down theere?

Many projects. One group hauled dirt for a house foundation today.
One group gutted the better part of a home because of water damage and mold… a home in which the owners were expecting to paint the walls and be done with it. Another did paint walls for another family.
A group installed windows.
Probably all the groups took a few minutes to encourage these homeowners today – to pray for or with them, share a story of God’s faithfulness and how his timing, reasons and purposes are mysterious and sometimes do not make sense to us.

Last fall Pastor Steve Jones taught us for several weeks focusing on community, service and the true fellowship that develops out of working together. When we work together like this for a common purpose, we find that the beautiful nature of servanthood as God designed it is that from serving together comes strong bonding and friendship – blessing! And we see in Christ that the most extreme act of servanthood brings the greatest blessing: He is crowned Lord of All and has all authority, in heaven and on earth.

We pray for encouragement for the families we are working for, and for God’s provision where some have monetary or supply needs. We praise for being graced with the beauty of the Gulf, beach, palm trees, good weather and quality time together.

Brisk Breez and Beautiful

So after the long journey in the church bus we’re finally here. We stopped at Cici’s for Pizza and then came back to Hope City for the first time. The hot shower felt great and getting in bed felt better. The sun came up this morning at like 6:40 and is beautiful. I can see the gulf as I sit here in the dinning room.
